Golf Rolling Meadows Golf Course, rated a 4.5 star value by Golf Digest as one of the top places to play golf in Kansas, stretches over 160 scenic acres in the Heart of the Flint Hills. Designed by nationally recognized architect Richard Watson, the course opened to the public in April 1981. Tree-lined, bent and rye-grass fairways, twenty-nine sand bunkers and six lakes combine to challenge golfers of all levels.
Heritage Park is Junction City's central public space. Heritage Park is located right next to the Historic Downtown District. The park features a Civil War Arch, Kansas Vietnam Veterans Memorial, 1st Infantry Division Memorial, Junction City/Geary County Law Enforcement Memorial, and bandstand. The park serves as the place for many community events. Heritage Park is also home to the largest free multi-day July 4th celebration in Kansas; Sundown Salute.
Playground Park features a large grassy area, five tennis courts, one sand volleyball court, one handball court, playground equipment, picnic tables, and a large covered shelter with electricity.
Swimming Pool and Sprayground The Junction City Municipal Swimming Complex, located near Playground Park at S and Eisenhower, features a wading pool, full-size pool, diving boards, and a 28 ft. tall triple tube slide, water cannons, a jelly fish tower, palm tree water feature and more. Cool off on those hot summer days at this community favorite!
12th Street Community Center The 12th Street Community Center is a state of the art facility built for the youth of Junction City. The center boasts a computer lab with 21 terminals, 2 big screen televisions, 2 full size indoor basketball courts, 2 pool tables, a full size kitchen, a multipurpose room, video games, and is well supervised by youth oriented city staff.
